Here are the ways to select a portion of the audio content:
Waveform View
- Click+drag to specify what portion of the audio content to be selected. (OPTION+click+drag for only 1 channel)
- SHIFT+click+drag to extend the selected portion. (OPTION+SHIFT+click+drag for only 1 channel).
- Double+click on a fade, loop, or region or between 2 marks to select that portion of the audio content.
- Triple+click to select the entire audio content. (OPTION+triple+clickfor only 1 channel).
- OPTION+click in the selected portion to add/remove that channelfrom the selection.
- Click with no drag to clear the selection.
- “Right Arrow” to clear the selection and move the insertion point to the right.
- “Left Arrow” to clear the selection and move the insertion point to the left
- SHIFT+”Right Arrow” to extend the selection to the right.
- SHIFT+”Left Arrow” to extend the selection to the left.
- OPTION+COMMAND+”Right Arrow” to select the next Region.
- OPTION+COMMAND+”Left Arrow” to select the previous Region.
Waveform Overview
- OPTION+click+drag to set the selection and adjust the view window at the same time.
- SHIFT+OPTION+click+drag to extend the selection and the view window.
Selection Menu
- Set to Fade - Select this portion of audio and center in the Waveform View.
- Set To Loop - Select this portion of audio and center in the Waveform View.
- Set Between Markers - Select this portion of audio and center in the Waveform View.
- Set To Region - Select this portion of audio and center in the Waveform View.
Snapping to Samples
The S and Z buttons turn on the different Snap features. When active, they will adjust the selection in the following ways:
- S - When close to a fade, loop, marker, or region, the selection will snap to its edge.
- Z - The selection will snap to the closest zero-crossing.
