Applies to Sound Grinder Pro and Library Monkey Pro
There are several actions that can be performed on audio content. Actions that are initiated by the Action menu are applied to the current selection by default. To apply to just the current selection, hold down the OPTION key when selecting the menu item.
Action Include
Add/Remove Channel
Add/remove channels to/from the current audio content.
- Up/Down Arrows - Adjust the number of channels.
Apply Gain
Apply a gain to the audio content.
- Slider - Adjust the gain.
- Edit Boxes - Enter specific gain values by either dB or percent.
Apply Plug-in
Process the audio content with the desired Audio Units, Monkey Tools, or VST plug-in.
Auto Region
Automatically create regions and fades with detailed settings and advanced naming options. These regions could then be exported via the Export Regions action.
- Create Regions - Turn off to just rename existing regions.
- Replace current regions - Turn on to replace existing regions with the new regions.
- Pre-roll - Specify the amount of time to add before the first detected sample in the region.
- Fade In - Specify to have a Fade In and the duration and type.
- Threshold - Specify the threshold below which the audio content will be treated as silence.
- Post-roll - Specify the amount of time to add after the last detected sample in the region.
- Fade Out - Specify to have a Fade Out and the duration and type.
- Minimum silence between regions - Specify the minimum amount of “silence” time between regions.
- Import regions from file - Turn on and choose the tab-delimited text file to import region names.
- Auto-name regions - Turn on to automatically name the regions. For each segment of the name, select “Auto-number” to automatically generate a number for this segment, or “Text” to specify the text for this segment
- Prefix - Specify how the first part of the name is to be constructed.
- Content - Specify how the main content of the name is to be constructed.
- Suffix - Specify how the last part of the name is to be constructed.
- Display results -Display the number of regions created when the process is complete.
Auto Trim
Automatically trim the beginning and ending silence of a waveform with detailed settings.
- Trim Beginning - Turn on to trim the beginning of the asset.
- Pre-roll - Specify the amount of time to add before the first detected non-silence sample.
- Fade In - Specify to have a Fade In and the duration and type.
- Threshold - Specify the threshold below which the audio content will be treated as silence.
- Trim Ending - Turn on to trim the end of the asset
- Post-roll - Specify the amount of time to add after the last detected non-silence sample.
- Fade Out - Specify to have a Fade Out and the duration and type.
Change Sample Rate
Change the sample rate without resampling.
Commit Changes to Original File
Replace the audio content of the original file with the new audio content. Fades will be applied and any Loops, Markers, and Regions will be written to the file based on file type.
Find Peak
Set the selection to the sample with the highest magnitude.
Insert Silence
Insert silence (-∞dB) at the current insertion point. Specify the duration of the silence.
- Edit Box - Specify the duration of the silence.
Invert
Invert the phase of the audio content.
Make Silence
Make the current selection into silence (-∞dB).
Normalize
Adjust the gain of the audio content based on the current Peak and RMS values.
- Method - Specify whether Target Level is relative to the current Peak or RMS value.
- Target Level - Specify the new target Peak or RMS value.
Remove DC
Remove a constant value from every sample in the audio content.
- Slider - Specify the value to remove.
- Edit Box - Specify the exact value to remove.
Resample
Adjust the sample rate of the audio content.
Reverse
Reverse the audio content.
Spot To
Spot assets into Digidesign® Pro Tools or Apple® Logic Audio.
To Perform a Spot to Pro Tools:
- Select all or a portion of the asset
- Select the Desired Settings from the Pro Tools Session Settings list:
- Bit Depth from 16 to 24 bits
- Sample Rate from 44.1kHz to 192 kHz
- Select Single Track to spot a mono asset to a mono track or a stereo asset to a stereo track.
- Select Multiple Mono Tracks to spot each channel of the asset to separate mono tracks. !
To Perform a Spot to Logic Audio:
- Select all or a portion of the asset
- Select the Desired Settings from the Logic Session Settings list:
- Bit Depth from 16 to 24 bits
- Select “Marquee/Playhead Position at Selected Track” to perform the spotting.
Swap Channels
Swap the left and right channels of the audio content. This action is only available for stereo files.
